The Prestige assignment

3. Does anything good come of the Angiers or Borden's obsessions/commitments?

On both ends of the playing field, starting with Angier. his obsession drove him to the edge after borden had killed his lover, Angier thrived on becoming a better magician, after Angier heard of Tesla he thought all his problems were over untill Tesla warned him of his over whelming obsession but of coarse Angier didnt take Tesla's advice and let his ignorance get the best of him.

On Borden's outcome of the situation the obsession was just as great though i do find it difficult to understand why borden and his brother would go through the trouble of sealing away seperate lives instead of being known to the world, i mean yea i understand it was to create an illusionbut it was something him and his brother were too commited and starts to become more dangerous to angier in a sense that he asked him if " he wasn't afraid to get his hands dirty."

so in my final statement to wrap up the question i say nothing good came from they're obbsessions and commitments.

  1. Notes on content: Be more specific about what the costs of the obsessions were.

Notes on structure: See previous comments. Work on breaking up your sentences; each paragraph is only one sentence long.

  2. If the Borden twins would have told the world there secret about being twins then the trick would not mean anything because everyone would know that there was just a double. Good thought's on the movie. I agree they both went over board and lost since of what meant the most.

  3. That quote "get your hands dirty" I think always has a negative association because we often think that it means "do something bad," but I think Borden means it in a different way. Angier has been looking for the easy way to get things done without investing too much effort, which perhaps makes sense because of his aristocratic background. Borden, who seems to come from the working class, is much more willing to give up and sacrifice in order to achieve results.
